EMDR Treatment

Virtual EMDR Blog, 2016, https://www.virtualemdr.com/

EMDR was developed for the treatment of trauma, being recognised by the World Health Organisation as one of the most effective treatments for PTSD.

EMDR is a psychotherapy treatment that involves the processing of traumatic memories. This results in long term lasting outcomes by allowing the brain to unlock the negative memory that becomes stuck and attach it to a positive cognition resulting in reduced distress.

Client’s report extraordinary results from EMDR and for those who find talk therapy challenging, this can be a very viable option.

For the past 15 years Leanne has worked extensively with children who have experienced trauma and abuse or who are presenting with mental health symptoms often triggered by a traumatic experience and she is very passionate about making EMDR available to children as well as adults.   EMDR for children is delivered by Leanne via an age appropriate therapeutic model.
